Bachelor of Science in Education / Elementary Teacher Education
The Bachelor of Science in Education/Elementary Teacher Education (BSEd/E) is an undergraduate degree program preparing candidates for teacher licensure. The guiding philosophy of the BSEd/E program is to provide students with the skills and knowledge that will allow them tobecome competent and effective educators. This program focuses on elementary student learning by developing the skills of the educatorresponsible for that learning.Student teaching is an integral component of the Teacher Education Program. It provides students with a field-based experience at the appropriate grade and content level. Student teachers work with a cooperating teacher from a school site and with a University of Phoenix faculty advisor. The student teaching experience is designed toemphasize the achievement of state standards leading to certification and to present individuals with growth opportunities that best preparethem to assume the duties of a certified classroom teacher.Throughout the program, students are required to complete a minimum of 100 hours of verified field experiences, covering a variety ofdevelopmental levels. The focus of each observation will relate to specific course content. Documentation will be maintained in the student's professional portfolio. In addition to the required course of study, students must satisfy general education and elective requirementsto meet the 120-credit minimum required for completion of the degree.

RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education,* is designed to develop the professional knowledge and skills of working registered nurses. The curriculum is built upon a foundation of biological, physical, and social sciences which contribute to the science of nursing. The liberal arts components enhance the development of the intellectual, social, and cultural aspects of the professional nurse.
Master of Arts in Education with a Specialization in Administration and Supervision
The Master of Arts in Education degree program with a specialization in Administration and Supervision is designed for educators interested in gaining knowledge and expertise in the area of school administration. The program curriculum is focused on education finance, school law, the roles and responsibilities of the principal, community relations, and supervision of personnel. The degree program also includes an internship experience in school administration at the principal level and a research component and requires an Action Research Project. Master of Business Administration
The Master of Business Administration program is designed to enhance the management skills students need to function effectively within an organization. Students will create and defend their solutions to problems of crisis management, profitable growth opportunities, and change leadership. Throughout the program, students gain experience in distilling a situation into a well-defined problem; applying tools and concepts to analyze a variety of alternative solutions; and selecting and defending their recommended course of action.The Master of Business Administration program at University of Phoenix utilizes problem-based learning where students refine their problem solving skills along with their communication, creativity, information utilization, and critical thinking skills. They are assessed on the basis of their use of the problem solving process (which employs a general rubric) as well as their communication and critical thinking skills during their presentation.Learning teams will apply the principles of benchmarking throughout the program to research the most creative solutions to a problem. This will enrich the alternatives that learners consider in evaluating possible solutions to the problems.The MBA consists of 39 credit hours and includes three proficiency courses (MBA 501, MBA 502, MBA 503) which may be satisfied using an undergraduate business degree, undergraduate coursework or graduate coursework. Students may also waive an additional nine credits using graduate courses and may qualify for a 21-credit hour residency.

The Master of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting (MBA/ACC) is designed to develop or enhance the financial management skills necessary to function effectively within private businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies. The program concentrates on managing human and fiscal resources within the structure, culture, and mission of any organization. The curriculum addresses advanced costing techniques, accounting theory, accounting information systems, issues in corporate taxation, executive management, budgeting, human resources management, organizational development, conflict management, strategic planning, information management, and decision making, among other subjects.
Master of Business Administration-Global Management
Globalization has increased the need for individuals with specialized knowledge and skills necessary to manage multicultural and multinational workforces effectively in a rapidly-changing environment. The Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Global Management (MBA/GM) program has been developed to provide those individuals the opportunity to study in a program specifically designed for their needs as current or future managers.
Master of Business Administration-Health Care Management
The Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Health Care Management (MBA/HCM) is designed to provide students with the business management skills needed to manage successfully in today's health care delivery systems. The MBA/HCM program emphasizes the identification, analysis, and solution of complex management problems with a foundation of health care concepts and decision models that will support the variety of management roles that can be seen in today's health care environment. The MBA/HCM specialization is based upon courses in health care organizations, health care finance, quality and data base management, health care infrastructure, and health care strategic management.

The Master in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resource Management (MBA/HRM) program is designed to meet the needs of a broad but unique population - the working adult manager or supervisor who could benefit from a graduate business education. Because the tools of the human resources management science are applicable to the problems of the public sector as well as the private sector, students whose career interests involve not-for-profit enterprise are also encouraged to seek admission. The MBA/HRM program requires a practical background in business, and the successful candidate will have a least three years of relevant experience.

To prepare students for this decision-making role, the MBA/PA has been designed to introduce the theory or principles that frame a wide range of problems or issues in each of the courses. The College of Graduate Business and Management has created interactive, multimedia, case-based simulations for its graduate business courses that place students in real-world environments and require them to apply critical thinking skills to decision making situations. Each simulation offers learners the opportunity to identify the information required to solve the problem, assess alternative solutions, and receive feedback on their choices.

Master of Health in Administration
The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program prepares leaders who can effectively respond to the dynamic and ever-changing health care industry. These individuals have a capacity to critically examine and evaluate issues and trends and are empowered to influence the destiny of the global health care system. Curriculum is tailored to the needs of the health care leader/manager by providing content in finance, policy, research, technology, quality improvement, economics, marketing and strategic planning.
Master of Information Systems
The Masters of Information Systems (MIS) program is focused on the acquisition of information technology theory and the application of theory and practice to real world business opportunities and challenges. The courses provide current theory and knowledge of essential information technology. While courses examine a broad range of information technology resources, the courses emphasize the management of such resources in order to meet an organization's challenges and goals. The Master of Management program (MM) is designed to enhance the management skills needed to function effectively within an organization. Students focus on leadership and management-the human side of an organization. This program emphasizes emerging management theory, techniques, and practices, and incorporates feedback and key competencies from senior business executives, curriculum-design experts, and university academic professionals. The MM program develops management skills in defining business problems, assessing information, considering alternatives, and choosing the best solutions. Graduates attain the skill sets necessary to evaluate and manage the challenges facing contemporary organizations. The MM program consists of 39 credit hours. Thirty credit hours constitute the core curriculum and nine additional credit hours complete the MM program. The final trio of courses allows the student to customize the degree program in a given specialization by focusing on current developments and business problems and issues relative to the specialization. The core begins with a three-credit, six-workshop program prerequisite-Managerial Communication and Ethics-designed to build strategies for success in the program. The remainder of the core courses provides a foundation of analytic and conceptual skills for effective managerial decision making in the real-world organization. Those students in the MM without specialization will complete three additional prescribed courses to hone their problem-solving skills. The final three courses prepare students for executive leadership and decision-making roles in general management. The principle outcome will be the completion of a project introduced in the first of the three specialization courses. The project is completed and presented in the final course of the program. The University of Phoenix has created interactive, multimedia, case-based simulations for its graduate business courses. These simulations place students into real-world environments and require them to apply critical thinking skills to decision-making situations. The MSN/MBA/HCM program emphasizes the identification, analysis, and solution of complex management problems that require technical understanding and balanced decision making. Although a functional knowledge of accounting, finance, and management underlies the program, equal attention is given to the development of report writing, oral reporting, and group process skills.
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology-Multimedia and Visual Communication
The BSIT focuses on the analysis, design, and development of information technology within the context of business systems. This program's specialization, Multimedia and Visual Communication, concentrates on the design and development of digital media presentations.
Master of Science in Nursing/Health Care Education
The Master of Science in Nursing/Health Care Education program (MSN/ED), accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)*, enhances the knowledge and skills of registered nurses with baccalaureate-degree preparation. The program prepares advanced practice nurses to function in leadership roles in practice and educational settings. Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Health Administration
The MSN/MHA program is designed to provide nurses with a unique blend of advanced nursing and healthcare related business skills to manage in today's evolving health care delivery systems. The program combines essential elements from both degree programs to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively examine and evaluate issues and trends impacting health care.The MSN program is designed for those nurses who want to pursue more advanced positions in today's challenging health care environment. The program blends nursing theory and advanced practice concepts necessary to successful work within the structure, culture, and mission of any size health care organization or educational setting.The MSN program consists of three major areas: the core, the major, and the cognate. The core incorporates the major foci of the Master of Science in Nursing degree: the theory of nursing influence, influence of nursing research, and on the advanced practice of nursing. The major includes advanced course work in nursing: management of families and aggregates, administration, and education. The cognate is fulfilled through the MHA program content.The MHA curriculum focuses on the content related to finance, economics, policy, quality improvement, marketing, and strategic planning. In addition, students complete course work in concepts related to public health, long term care and health care informatics. Graduates will have enhanced their management/administrative backgrounds through a curriculum that provides students with the ability to apply theory to contemporary practice applications.
